With baseball and teaching being Nico's passions, he decided to start Bañez Baseball in the summer before going to college. Aspiring to own a business one day after college, he decided, "Why not start early?". This business has evolved into more than just coaching, it has evolved into Nico becoming an "older brother" to nearly 50 athletes and a "younger son" to many families. Over the span of 4 years of coaching, he's given over 350+ hours in private lessons and 100+ hours in coaching camps, clinics, and teams.

the 6th sense
baseball savvinessness
The 6th Sense is what makes a player stand out. For example: competitive in the box, lethal on the bases, reads swings to position himself in the field, quick to the ball, etc.. Confidence, hustle, athleticism, and IQ are the 4 key components to allow players to unlock this true competitive nature of oneself. My goal is to improve the 4 keys within players to unlock it themselves.

a better student
Educating players about the importance of having a ‘growth mindset’ to allow them to develop the best version of themselves both on the field and in the classroom. Through exposure, engagement, and education, players will develop self-awareness that will lead them to constantly becoming more resilient, disciplined, independent, and mature in their actions.

relationship and
communication
A highly overlooked skill in athlete development. The program will build a coach to player bond to continue educating when lessons are not active. This gives players an older peer to look up to, especially those who don’t have older siblings. Also teaches the value of communication and how to engage in conversations with coaches and peers. I will invest in each player!
